Erie Canal Towpath, headed home
One of these days I’m going to walk and not turn back. Yes, that is how it is in these walking dreams. There is unfinished business that must be tended to. There are relationships that need restoration and fences that need to be mended. There are children, family and friends that need to be loved and reassured. There are the sick that need to have hands of healing laid upon them. Yes, there are broken things that need to be fixed and situations knocked askew that need to be put right. These are things that can’t be done unless we walk…
No – you can’t get there by motor vehicle as that narrow path will not accommodate such modes of conveyance . You can only get there by foot. And though it appears that I walk alone I am hardly alone!
In this dream I am walking home. I don’t know how long it will take to get there as it is not for me to have such knowledge. But, I do know this: there are more miles behind than ahead. Still, those remaining miles that lay ahead, demanding to be clicked off — they may be the most difficult miles of all.
